About PowerLoss.tech
What this site is
PowerLoss.tech is a free library of 103 physics-based calculators for EV charging, solar sizing, battery runtime and degradation, backup power, and home energy costs. Every calculator runs instantly in your browser — no sign-up, no downloads. Browse the full index of calculators.
How the estimates are derived
Every calculator applies standard electrical and physics formulas — watts, volt-amperes, watt-hours and amp-hours, voltage drop, charge and degradation behavior — to the inputs you provide. Results are estimates based on the formulas, assumptions, and reference values documented on each calculator page. Popular calculators also show a worked example with real inputs and the computed result as regular page text, so you can check the math yourself.
The estimates are for planning and comparison. Real-world outcomes depend on equipment condition, installation quality, temperature, local codes, and utility rates, so verify critical numbers independently — see our Terms of Service.
Who runs it
